Festivus for the Restovus!

I couldn't resist - I loved the Festivus episodes of Seinfeld so many years ago.  For those of you who haven't heard of it, here's a little snippet of the highlights...

As many of you have figured out by now, this past Monday saw the launch of the Summer Festival on LOTRO.  There's a bunch of quests located in the four main festival areas (Thorin's Hall, Dulliond, Bree-land, and The Shire).  If you're wanting the complete low-down on this year's even, I recommend the great Festival Guide by Goldenstar of A Casual Stroll to Mordor.

If I had to sum up the Summer Festival in one word, it would be... FISHING.  Yep, made a bundle selling fishing poles during the first day, and then stopped as the market was flooded.  Every quest area has repeatable fishing quests each day, which are the main source of tokens to collect for rewards.  Here we have the Bree fishing hole gang of Arishem, Charwena, Lindriel, Renthan, Geltheruth, Daglon, Swesthryth, and Banedhrod.

Wissenwulf and Scrobo look on as I reel one in!

Here I am a little later on the docks at Celondim catching mostly weeds that day...  Wissenwulf and Faelanwing seemed to be having much better luck than I.

Ever seen a hobbit get pulled into the water by a fish?  :)  I was sure that Noigei was going in, but somehow he managed to stay on the dock while he landed a big goldfish.  Malfunkshun pondered his luck while I caught more weeds.

Managed to score this festival cape and a pretty tree firework reward.  Sadly the fireworks have such a long cooldown, that it's nearly impossible for one person to put on any sort of impressive firework display.  :(

More fishing in Bree, this time with Fincin, Blackpoppy, Kataphroneo, and Glumstangin.

I've heard of hip-waders for serious fishermen, but Zeronus seemed to be taking "waders" to a whole new level.  So if you catch a fish while standing under water, and put it in your hip bag that is also under water, did you really catch the fish?

I gotta say, that some people put a whole lot of effort into this fishing thing.  LeeroyofJenkins was a pile of grunts and groans and moanings as he landed... weeds.  Wotan, and Ezgarot looked on in bewilderment, while trying to hide their growing collection of goldfish.

I should have taken this "easy first win" as a sign.  There's a festival deed if you can "win" with all eight hobbit and dwarf racers.  See that hobbit at left yelling "Nooooo..." ?  That is Daffodilly, the most unlucky, slow-as-a-camel, hobbit.  Did I mention that I've bet now 15+ race tokens on her and she has YET to win me a race?  Gah.  Aesion, Arbonnia, Gonzalgo, Adhollil, and Arkim cry and celebrate the race results with me.

LOL - this was my epic funny moment of my Festival day.  I got jumped by the Laurel & Hardy of the fishslap brigade.  Garomur and Maethorion must have spent two or three solid minutes fish-slapping the heck out of me and trying to distract me while I was on my Bree-land fishing quest.  "Thanks" go out to Mirheri, who completely ignored my predicament and was no help at all.  Amazingly enough, that round of fishing was the most productive for me - scored 4 tokens worth of Bree fish!  Thanks boys!  :D

Here I am in my new Festival dress in one of the rare occasions that I was putting a fish INTO my bag... not weeds, not stupid goldfish, but an actual REWARD FISH!  Yay me.  >.<

"Four score and seven years ago..." Yep, that's right.  Little ole' me got to spend an afternoon fishing with Abraham.  THE Abraham - you know, Lincoln, of Gettysburg fame?  I loved his full-on "wardrobe matching the name" efforts.  He looked awesome.  Definately my vote for best cosmetics this week!

Me and Lorelae take a moment to chat up fashion, boys, and the rude hobbit Carl Proudfoot who was glitching today and failing my race attempts repeatedly, eventhough I finished WELL past the finish line each time.  Reported a ticket to a GM, who sent me to report a /bug.  Logged out in frustration after 2 failed races - tried later, and the glitch seemed to be gone.  Was I the only one with this issue??

After a good couple days Festivusing for the Restofus, I joined a kin-member to help him, er "her" level up in the Barrow Downs.  She must have been on "acid" though, cause her skin-tight lululemon bottoms were bounding all over the place.  He, I mean she, really has to learn how to carry that two-hander more carefully though.  ;)

Visiting our kinhouse, I found we had a new addition in one of our rooms.  This colourful table arrangement of kin-bits!  :)  No names... because my head is so far inside someone's spleen I just don't want to recall whose it is...

Love and hugs to all my fellow Dwarrowdelfians,

Sarharien -- Bowchick of Red and Collector of Shoes
Kierraen -- Minstrel of Delightful Octaves of Pain
Niphredila -- Warden of Gleeful Green Giggles
