FEM-tastically Legendary!

Today was a very exciting "grind" day in Middle Earth for me.  My goal - to complete all of Crannog's quests in Angmar to get my light FEM armor set for my minstrel.  Unfortunately, the day was spent alone - no victims of random screenshots today.  ;)

Off to Angmar!  Or more particularly, Aughaire.

Had to pass through some minor Earth-Kin quest encampment first.  They might be big, but they are NOT big on housing.  Seriously?!?  Some 8-10 feet tall and they can only manage to stretch some skins over sticks and call it a house?

Did I mention that I bought horse #26 yesterday?  Had not realized that Kierraen was kindred with the Annuminas group in Evendim, but 5 gold later... NEW SHOES!  :D

And yes, I broke down and bought the Minas Ilthil horse from the store.  My one and only TP horse purchase (I think...) the rest of my herd was earned through reputation and deeds.  It is a great looking horse, but has a serious bug where it runs like a PONY and sounds like a HORSE.  This had better get fixed SOON(tm), given the high TP price to get one of these.

Lots and LOTS of mob killing today in Angmar.  Orcs in a cave, goblins in the hills, hillmen all over the place, and wargs - lets not forget the wargs...

At one point while working through Crannog's challenge for my FEM armor set, I had to jump up on this pile of rocks and grab a pretty pink diamond.  I can remember having to do this quest with Sarharien, but back then, you had to deal with a lot of dread.  This time, seems it has been removed, and it's just the annoying jump-fest to get on the right ledge to reach the stone...

A beautiful nighttime picture of me and my new horse, riding through Angmar... ruined only by some weeds. >.<  I never see my photos until the end of the day - so sometimes it's just hit and miss.  :)

So after a long day slogging the life out of Angmar mobs, I headed back to speak with Elrond in Rivendell.  Seems like he has more troll-removal tasks for me in the area, which is good because I have three cave systems to investigate for my epic.

In the caves live cave trolls.  Ran into a couple lower-level players who were dragging mobs back to the entrance... all I could do was say "Run, Forrest, run!" as they passed me too quickly to screencap.

The glowy beryl rock that Elrond gave me failed to "glow" properly in any of the caverns.  Meh - kinda expected that since we're searching for this nazzy guy in black...

On my way to the last of the three caves, I was met by an enjoyable troll OUTSIDE the instance door.  He was an elite 7000hp mob too.  Took a long while to burn him down as I had to stay in higher healing mode to keep alive from the darn mountainside he kept throwing at me.

Did I mention that I carry a pick-axe hidden up my robe?  I know, amazing what can be hidden in some of these costumes!

Yes, more shiney rocks to mutilate...

...and more...  I just can't help myself!

On one particular wandering through the Trollshaws, I was sent to go find this Orund fellow (sp?).  He was snoring so loudly I heard him two valleys over.  Managed to pose for a shot between his legs...

...at which point he woke up and was VERY unimpressed with my candid photo.  Battle ensued...

...monster slain.  I got myself a beryl shard for my trouble, and returned to Elrond to discuss my findings.

Elrond was so pleased and worried about my mis-adventures, that he sent me at once to ***<stars in eyes>*** LEGOLAS!!!  <swoon>  Be still my elvish heart!  Legolas invited ME out for a little adventure in the Trollshaws.  Seems some trees were misbehaving badly.

About 20 minutes into our battles, Legolas started complaining that I was always following behind him.  I told him it was because I felt unworthy to lead such a warrior in battle... but really, I just couldn't stop staring at his, uh... legs.  >.<

Clearly Legolas was not pleased with my performance.  He banished me to the Misty Mountains to kill a bunch of snowbeasts, worms and hillmen. <sob> Managed to find some pages to some diaries that I'm trying to piece back together, so although my ego was bruised, my skills were not!

After the Misty Mountains, it was back to Angmar for more mob slashing.  Someone really had it in for these minstrel diary pages.  How they got blow all around Middle Earth is beyond me, but I found them!

TA-DA!  The end of a great day - me in all my FEM finery, and my new Legendary Skill - the Purple-Circle-Of-Awesome-Glowyness!  (I don't know what it's called - ask Acidor.)

A little Evendim Blue, and my FEM matched perfectly with my new horsey.  A perfect end to a perfect day of questing.  Who knows what trouble tomorrow will bring?

Love and hugs to all my fellow Dwarrowdelfians,

Kierraen -- Minstrel of Delightful Octaves of Pain
