I was thrilled to find myself leveled high enough over the past couple weeks, to enjoy the newly "refurbished" region of Evendim. I always found it to be an incredible scenic area, even when it was lacking in content when Sarharien was leveling up through it many months ago.
But the other day I managed to get a quest completed that lets me venture to the top of the statues at Kings Crossing - a famous bridge in Evendim, just south of Tinnudir. WOW - I cannot describe how amazing the view is from up there, especially with all my settings tweaked to the max for detail and range. Just breathtaking!
At some point in my adventures, I had to set out to meet with the Blue Lady. After taking a boat ride to the middle of the lake, the boat handler there had the audacity to tell me that trips to the southwestern shore were now prohibited for "environmental reasons". Flirty eyes and even a whack on the head with my drum wouldn't dissuade him, so I had to swim... the breast-stroke (haha!).
Then I arrive and find the Blue Lady's fine establishment. Hidden behind a waterfall in southwest Evendim, it is a wonderful cavern-system of mould, snakes and algae growths. Yeah, not my place to spend my days, but - WOW - want her dress! She can keep her irritating skin condition (she really needs to get out for a tan more often). After a few chats about her life behind the falls, she lets it slip that SHE is the reason there is no waterfront boat service to her getaway. Seems that the last boat handler she had was more interested in "sans dress code" than she was comfortable with. I think I found him and his boat underwater during one of my swims, but I didn't want to ask.
All of this meant that it was back for more swimming (sigh - I hate being waterlogged). I must have completed about 5 miles of swimming today. Could make a killing here with a rowboat, but sadly I don't have anywhere to fit one in my bags.
Seems the Blue Lady has a think for Salamanders - in fact she's pretty insistent that they should be wiped off the face of God's creation (I kinda think they're cute, but I'm not gonna argue with her). So after a few rounds of whack-a-mander, I said my goodbyes to the Lady.
Spent some time drying out at the Tinnudir campfire, and then it was off to Annuminas! More on that adventure later - but a huge thanks to Illundir from our kin, for helping me through those crazy quests up and down the hillsides and roads!
Love and hugs to all my fellow Dwarrowdelfians,
Kierraen -- Minstrel of Delightful Octaves of Pain
