Weekly Winner and Saturday Raiding

First, congratulations again to Llywark of the Lords of Valhalla, this past week's winner of my photo victim blog contest.  You should have some mail from me containing your prizes: one Scroll of Delving and 20 x Steeped Celebrant Salves.  Both worthy prizes of your L64 guardian character.

Got invited into an OD raid today - my first time through, and it was a blast.  We didn't have time to finish, but well... Wargstalker, Dairren, Jacbo, Zubzubziggywiggy, Caspur, Jaelbait, Arabliss, Erlilda, Porkchopsandwich, Banoon, and Qwyvern certainly gave us a gang full of fun and friskyness!

First, there were these rampaging mammoths.  They chase you, and if you don't run fast enough and far enough through the maze, they one-stop-stomp you.  Suffice to say, we didn't finish this section.

Then we headed down a different section.  Here we are before the drama...

...and after!  :)  Nothing like a few wipes between friends.  How I managed to stay alive is beyond me - oh yea, I got rezzed first.  ;P

After an hour or so, we got into another area with two trees and a boss. 

Here we are all pretty and healthy before the chaos.

During the battle, you have to shoot one tree, which "colours" the edge of your screen red or white... then you run over and kill bog creatures of the "colour" that you're screen is.

Suffice to say, it gets a bit crazy in there.  This shot makes things look so neat and orderly... but it wasn't.  :)

But it was loads of fun!  Here we are after one wipe, when the adds crossed sides and threw the battle into complete chaos.  :)

Do you want to know how hard it is to get 12 raiders to pose for a photo while they're all in vent and not paying attention to your text?  ;)  Not only that, but throw in three ruffians that can't stand still (notice Caspur, Zidia, and Jacbo and their aerial studliness?), and you've got a recipie for about a dozen unuseable screencaps.  ;P

Took this pic because Caspur's gloves crack me up.  Doesn't he look like a frogman?  Oh, and Erlilda's had some pretty bright ideas lately.

Little green people and fragile rock platforms, oh my!  It might not always make sense, but these new raids are sure entertaining!  Lots of great imagination and visuals.

Here we are just before throwing ourselves into another battle.  I love this shot for the shoulder in the foreground.  Awesome detail on the armour, and a cool view into the room!

After the raiding, I spent a very, very, VERY long time in the forges leveling my crafts.  Managed to get myself to Supreme Master prospector, and significantly along with my metalsmith.  I ran out of materials...

...and was wooed into Eregion by good friends Nelpherdis and Tacbo.  They really reminded me of a couple other people I know, but I just couldn't put my finger on it.  The hunter girl seemed a bit minstrel-confused.  Kept staring at her bow like it was a banjo... and don't get me started on that hobbit warden.  Getting close to him kept making me thing of Jack and Tacos for some reason.  ;)
